Description
'Tall Man will pull you in atom by atom and haunt you ... Ms Hooper tells this story carefully and ingeniously, constantly turning it over to explore new facets. She sees the world through alert, appraising eyes.' New York Times.
As part of Worlds 2010 we’re delighted to bring three outstanding voices from Australia to your doorstep. Come along and enjoy a wide range of literary styles; from short stories set in an apocalyptic world to a complex mysterious story brought about when a dog goes walkabout!
Multi-award winning Chloe Hooper’s first novel made her a literary star across the world and her new book, The Tall Man about the death of a young Aboriginal man whilst in police custody, is just as powerful.
Michelle de Kretser’s The Lost Dog (Booker long listed) follows a man’s search for his dog in prose full of suspense and psychological insight.
Finally, Steven Amsterdam’s Things We Didn’t See Coming has been called ‘disturbing and deeply smart... darkly comic and full of surprises.’ (Time Out New York).
Opportunities for UK residents to hear from Australian based literary talents in the flesh are few and far between, so don’t let this one pass you by. Book your ticket and enjoy some tales from afar!
Tickets: Book your ticket at the UEA Box Office or call 01603 508050
