Going on a Journey: The Poetry Train Workshop with Hannah Jane Walker
£60 or £180/£150 as part of the Series
Norwich Rail Station
Try new things with your poetry on this special Poetry Train workshop.
Do you find train journeys curiously inspiring?
Are you eager to try new things with your poetry?
You’re invited to join Hannah Jane Walker, poet, performer and theatre maker, for a day of locomotive inspired writing.
About the Poetry Workshop
This is sure to be unlike any poetry workshop you’ve previously attended – you’ll spend the day travelling on modern trains between Norwich and Sheringham and have a short trip on a steam train too. The day will be all about creating new work, and experimenting with what you can produce on the move.
Hannah will give you a series of structured exercises which will help you create new material. You’ll produce work inspired by landscapes, literal and metaphorical reflections, leaving and arriving, everyday detail and overheard conversations. The focus of the workshop will be taking inspiration from your surrounding. You will therefore be spending time learning to observe and record, and use automatic writing to see what can be created unconsciously.
Take a journey with your writing and discover what you can create- book now
