Description
Writers! Are you attempting to fictionalise real people and events?
Perhaps you know the story you want to tell and the people you want to write about, but you’re not sure how to go about it.
Well come to Norwich to learn from MBE awardee for services to literature, Bernardine Evaristo, who will give you the tools you need to make the transition from real life to fiction.
About the workshop
You’ll learn: how to create characters based or inspired by those around you; how to structure a story from real life events and how to negotiate risks when writing from personal experience.
About the tutor
Bernardine has plenty of writing experience to learn from. Her six books include Hello Mum, a novella about teenage knife crime (Penguin 2010), Lara, a verse novel based on her family history (Bloodaxe 2010) and Blonde Roots, a novel where Africans enslave Europeans (Penguin 2008). She has also received and judged several literary awards.
Join Bernardine at this day-long workshop and discover best practice for fictionalising reality.
