About the Writing for Performance Workshop

Venture into new forms of writing with this workshop led by accomplished poet Kayo Chingonyi. Through a series of exercises you’ll learn new skills, experiment with your writing, create fresh work, and learn how to inspect your work through a new critical lens.

Kayo will help you to examine your own practice in relation to a range of performance texts, from storytelling to stand up. You’ll play with your writing, composing new texts which will encourage you to reassess what is meant by ‘writing for performance’. Through discussion and workshopping you’ll create new material of a high standard, and receive valuable feedback on how to improve your work and push boundaries with it.
