Description
Have you approached agents but had no success? Would you like to improve your chances?
Book your place on this popular literature development workshop and explore the ins and outs of the literary agent’s world with the Christopher Little Agency’s Caroline Hardman.
About the workshop
If you have a completed book or a work in progress; novel or non fiction, then here’s your chance to learn how to approach and secure an agent.
You will get an overview of the Christopher Little Agency’s role in representing a broad range of fiction and non-fiction writers and an insight into what they look out for and which approaches work and why.
You’ll discuss your experiences with Caroline and your fellow writers and get a professional read, as well as a valuable 20 minute one to one feedback session looking at your work and agent approaches. Caroline is particularly interested in hearing from literary fiction writers with unique or accessible voices.
About the tutor
Caroline joined the Christopher Little Literary Agency as an agent in February 2010, after six years at The Marsh Agency, firstly as an assistant, then rights executive and finally an agent for English language and international rights. Her taste is diverse, and she’s looking for upmarket commercial and literary fiction, quality crime and thrillers, young adult and non-fiction. In literary fiction she’s drawn to writing that is clever and quirky: smart word play, unusual dark settings, great plot twists, and offbeat characters. On the flipside, she loves reading books that are warm and make her laugh or cry – books with heart. And of course, anything that keeps you turning the page. She’s a huge fan of memoir, and well-written, subject-driven, narrative non-fiction. In summary, she enjoys great writing in whatever guise it comes.
