Join Writers’ Centre Norwich for an evening of culture and international writing as part of our week long Worlds literary festival.
Writers Geoff Dyer, Chenjerai Hove, Robin Hemley and Mansur Rajih will read, talk and answer your questions in an evening designed to inspire you with tales from across genres and from across the world.

Mansur Rajih
The evening begins with two poets who have both fought for the freedom to write.
Mansur Raji’s beautiful poetry will take you through the Arabic world, with all its sounds and flavours. Then Chenjerai Hove will relate the moving story of his life in exile since criticising Mugabe’s government, supplemented by his direct form of poetry.
After a chance to sample the delights of the SCVA coffee shop the second half of the evening offers time with the American non-fiction writing expert and novelist Robin Hemley, and prolific home-grown writer Geoff Dyer, both of whom will be reading new work.

Robin Hemley
Guggenheim winner Robin, who teaches non-fiction writing at the world leading Iowa University, will introduce you to DO-OVER! – a light hearted and explorative novel that sees him re-live his unsatisfactory youth with an adult insight. Then the ever amusing cross-over author Geoff Dyer will read from Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi, another original novel exploring the underbelly of eroticism and spiritual yearning in a way that only Geoff can.
Connecting Worlds is supported by the Shahrazad project an offshoot of the International Cities of Refuge Network (ICORN). The aim of the project is to open up a free space in Europe for writers from all over the world to connect and release their stories. More information can be found on the Shahrazad website.
