Literary Crime Fiction

For established and emerging writers looking to cross over into crime writing, or develop their skills in this area, Norfolk based writer Henry Sutton will be looking at literary aspects of contemporary crime fiction; crime, suspense, thriller and psychological narrative. Participants are asked to bring along a page or two of work in progress.

Biography

Norfolk based Henry Sutton is the author of six novels, including Gorleston, Flying and Kids’ Stuff, and a collection of short stories, Thong Nation. He is the books editor of the Daily Mirror, and a regular contributor to the Independent On Sunday. He teaches creative writing at the UEA, where he was most recently the Writers’ Centre Norwich/UEA Fellow. His short fiction has appeared in a number of anthologies, magazines and websites, and he has judged a number of literary awards, most recently the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize. He is also the founder of the literary consultancy, The Writer’s Practice. His new novel, Get Me Out Of Here, will be published by Harvill Secker in January 2010.
