About the Workshop

Tony will provide you with the tools to make your children’s book a success. Through a series of creative writing exercises you’ll learn how to develop the structure and plot of your novel, improve your editing skills and discover hints and tips on thinking of best-selling stories.

Using his expertise in the children’s publishing world Tony will explain current market trends and how to negotiate them. Tony will also discuss the challenges of finding an agent and publisher and give expert advice on developing your writing career.

The workshop will be tutor-led, with the opportunity to discuss your writing with your peers.

About the Author

Tony Bradman is the author of numerous children’s books. He has written poetry and picture books, short and long fiction, and educational books and plays. Tony reviews regularly for The Guardian. He is also chair of the Siobhan Dowd Trust and director at ALCS (The Author’s Licensing and Collecting Society) and CLA (The Copyright Licensing Agency). Tony has also worked as a tutor for Curtis Brown Creative.

Please send a sample of your work (a chapter from a novel or a short story) of no more than 2000 words to info@writerscentrenorwich.org.uk by 26th October 2012. 

This workshop is best suited for those writing for junior or young adult.

Not suitable for individuals writing for early years or for those new to writing.

Payment is non-refundable unless the workshop is cancelled.

About the Venue

This workshop will take place in the workshop room situated on the ground floor of the Writers' Centre Norwich office, on 14 Princes Street.

This room provides an ideal environment for creative thinking and learning with plenty of space and natural light.
