Escalator Literature winner 2009: Gillian Daly
Biography:
Gillian Daly is a university lecturer from Norwich who teaches human rights law having qualified as a barrister and worked as a court reporter. She completed the MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia in September 2009 and is writing a novel, The Wash, which centres on the disappearance of a woman in Lincolnshire, and is narrated from the point of view of a deaf girl. Her short fiction has appeared in Mslexia and was short listed for the 2009 Asham Award.
