Description
"He should be recognised as one of England's very best poets, not only for the exuberance of his imagination, but because of what he is writing about" John Greening, Times Literary Supplement
Would you like to get inside the workings of your poetry and open out its true potential?
This Masterclass with T.S. Eliot Prize winning poet Philip Gross will help you to set free those possibilities.
About the workshop
Philip will show practical ways to look beyond the single 'well-made poem' into different kinds of sequences, or new relationships between poems that see new work growing from the spaces in between.
You’re encouraged to bring your own poems to work on, and respond to each other's in creative ways. There will be time to experiment and start something new.
About the tutor
Philip Gross was appointed Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Glamorgan, a position he still holds. In 2009 Cinnamon Press published poetry by Philip Gross with photographs by Simon Denison, I Spy Pinhole Eye. The collection was awarded the Wales Book of the Year prize on 30 June 2010. His other poetry collections include The Ice Factory, Cat's Whisker, The Son of the Duke of Nowhere, I.D., The Wasting Game - all collected in Changes of Address: Poems 1980-98, published by Bloodaxe Books, as are Mappa Mundi and The Egg of Zero.
