Granta believes in the power and urgency of the story, both in fiction and non-fiction, and the story’s supreme ability to describe, illuminate and make real. In this event, Granta editors will be in discussion about Granta, focusing on new writing, internationalism, and the role Granta plays as a cultural space.

Translation Slam with Daniel Hahn, Ros Schwartz, and Frank Wynne
An event which explores the boundaries and fluidity of literary translation. Each translator will be given a piece of text to translate individually in advance, and will then come together to compare and contrast their versions of the text and discuss the art of translation in front of a live audience.

1) Register your details or log in if you already have an account with us.
2) Once you are logged in please go to the events page and in the orange box to the right put the code:
norwichshowcase into the promotions box. You will then be able to see a list of the free events and book up as many as you wish to attend.
Please note that due to restricted availability all bookings must be considered a serious commitment to attend and we would ask that you only book a place if you’re sure you can turn up.
All students must bring their printed ticket and their student ID to the event and one person can book maximum 5 tickets (every person for whom a ticket is booked much have UEA ID).
