This session is hosted by Susannah Nicklin of British Council and features the writers Joe Dunthorne, Yvette Edwards and Ross Raisin.
Featured Writers
In this session you can enjoy three 12-15 minute readings featuring:
Joe Dunthorne was born and brought up in Swansea. His debut novel,
Submarine, was translated in to twelve languages and made in to a film. His debut poetry pamphlet was published by Faber. His second novel,
Wild Abandon (Hamish Hamilton/Penguin), has just been published.
Ross Raisin was born in Yorkshire in 1979, near Bradford and Ilkley. He studied English at King’s College in London and worked for a time as co-manager of a wine bar. He studied for an MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmith’s University in London before his debut novel,
God's Own Country, was bought in a hotly-contested auction by Viking Penguin. It was published to great critical acclaim in 2008 and Ross was shortlisted for 8 separate awards for the book, winning the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year Award 2009. His second novel,
Waterline was published in 2011 to similar acclaim. He lives in London.
Yvvette Edwards is a British writer of Montserratian origin, who grew up in Hackney and continues to live in East London with her family. Her highly acclaimed debut novel,
A Cupboard Full of Coats, was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize and shortlisted for the Writers' Guild awards.
