National Centre for Writing

Literature has much to celebrate. It remains the most popular of art forms. But we’re at a time when readers, writers, publishers and booksellers all face many challenges – the technological, commercial and financial to name a few.

How can we ensure that we will continue to create and have access to the very best writing in years to come?

We need a national body, a place and set of partners, to address these challenges. Despite the changes, we still believe in the power of literature to transform lives and communities for the better.

So we’re proposing a new National Centre for Writing (NCW), an organisation that will work across written forms and across the country for writers and readers alike.
