Description
Come and read one or more of our six great reads this May-July and then air your views on them with other interested readers at our Summer Reads Book Club.
The club will run fortnightly from May in book shops and libraries around Norwich. You'll get to meet fellow readers and share your thoughts with others in lively, informal sessions. All sessions will be led by Writers' Centre Norwich's Sam Ruddock - a keen reader. You'll find yourself in a welcoming, inclusive environment with other people just as keen about reading as you are and you can come to all or just some of the sessions - it's up to you.
This week's book is Andrey Kurkov's the Good Angel of Death.
When Kolya moves into a new flat in Kiev, he discovers an annotated manuscript hidden inside a copy of War and Peace. Intrigued, he sets out to discover more and is soon drawn into a madcap adventure that takes him accross the Caspian Sea and Kazakhstan with only three cases of hallucinogenic baby milk to sustain him.
Sam says: “I'm a big Kurkov fan: this is a first-rate satire that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last."
