The Summer Reads Book Club session on Chloe Hooper

Description

The third session of our Summer Reads Book Club, running once a fortnight from June-August offering lively, informal chat about six great books.

Find out more about the books and the whole Summer Reads experience: hearing the authors read at events, discussing the books online, downloading exclusive content and taking part in competitions on our Summer Reads page.

This week you can discuss The Tall Man by Chloe Hooper,  from 6pm at the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, Norwich:

When a 36 year old Aboriginal man is arrested for swearing, no-one from his community imagines that he’ll be dead within 45 minutes. The Police claim he fell on a step, yet the pathologist says he has injuries consistent with a plane crash...

The discussion, like all six Book Club sessions, will be led by Writers' Centre Norwich's Sam Ruddock - a keen reader. You'll find yourself in a welcoming, inclusive environment with other people just as keen about reading as you are. Sam says: “Atmospheric, gritty and original, Hooper’s journalistic account absorbed me with its mix of Aboriginal myth, Australian history and shocking revelations.”

If you'd like to chat about the Book Club and find out more, do call Sam Ruddock on 01603 877177 or email him on readers@writerscentrenorwich.org.uk.
