The second session of our Summer Reads Book Club, running once a fortnight from June-August offering lively, informal chat about six great books.

This week you can discuss Summertime by JM Coetzee,  from 6pm at Waterstone’s Royal Arcade, Norwich:

A young English biographer is trying to find out about the writer John Coetzee as he was in his thirties and sets about interviewing people who were close to him at that time. Heartbreaking and very funny, Summertime shows a great writer as he limbers up for his task.

The discussion, like all six Book Club sessions, will be led by Writers' Centre Norwich's Sam Ruddock - a keen reader. You'll find yourself in a welcoming, inclusive environment with other people just as keen about reading as you are. Sam says: “This is Coetzee at his most human. Passionate, illuminating and razor-sharp, Summertime is a stunning work of semi-biographical fiction.”
