And here's a few details  for one of the upcoming competitions featured on their website: the Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award.

The Foyle Young Poets of the Year Award is a key award for young writers aged 11-17. Each year 100 winners (85 Commendations and 15 Overall Winners) are selected by a team of high profile judges, and receive their awards at an annual prize-giving event on National Poetry Day.  Last year was a record year - with a staggering 20,000+ poems entered from the UK and worldwide. The 15 Overall Winners attend a week-long intensive residential Arvon course or receive a poetry residency at their school followed by distance mentoring (age dependent), and have their poems published in the yearly Foyle Anthology.

This year's competition closing date is 31st of July 2011!
