The session will take a practical approach to writing a memoir or biography. Research will be discussed and how to turn your findings into a compelling story. Consideration will be given to the different ways in which one can tell the story of someone's life and the moral dilemmas involved in uncovering family secrets.
Participants are asked to bring any letters, diaries, photos or other artefacts connected to a project. By the end of the session those involved should have a clearer idea of who you are writing for, a rough plan of your book, a possible beginning and suggestions about researching their subject.
