Date: 02/10/2010 Times: 10am - 4pm Prices: £60 / £40 conc Location: Writers' Centre Norwich

Stuck in the middle of your novel? Clear the way with Booker Prize shortlisted author, Michèle Roberts.

Description

“Michèle Roberts is one of those writers descended perhaps as much from Monet and Debussy as Virginia Woolf or Keats... To read a book by her is to savour colour, sound, taste, texture and touch as never before.” The Times.

Does the excitement of a beginning and the satisfaction of an ending seem far away? If so, you’ve probably reached the middle of your novel.

The large space in the middle of your story is one of the most testing elements to master, yet we’re delighted to bring you assistance in the shape of Michèle Roberts, author of The Looking Glass and Daughters of the House which won the WHSmith Literary Award and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize.

Through a mixture of group discussion and exercises you’ll find out what’s required to stop your writing wilting from a promising start, and instead build towards a thrilling climax.

Michèle has plenty of experience tackling the middle of the novel. The author of twelve highly acclaimed books, she has also published poetry and short stories, most recently collected in Mud- stories of sex and love (2010). She is also Emeritus Professor of Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia.

Let Michèle breathe life back into your writing by booking today.
