Poetry: Finding Your Form (Level 2)

This course will broaden your understanding of the scope of contemporary poetry. At this level you will begin to develop your own poetic abilities and will explore your poetic voice.

This course will give you the space to experiment and tap into what is often referred to as ‘serious play.’

You do not need to have studied our Level 1 course to study at Level 2.

How to apply

To apply for Level 2 Poetry, please fill out the application form below. Along with your contact details and your choice of course, you will be asked to complete the following exercises:

  • 3-5 poems that you would like to share with the tutor
  • A one-page letter introducing yourself and your writing

Once your application has been submitted, a member of the WCN team will be in touch within 10 working days to confirm whether you have been successful. You will then be sent a payment link for your course.

About Helen Ivory

Helen Ivory is a poet and visual artist. Her fourth Bloodaxe Books collection is the semi-autobiographical Waiting for Bluebeard (May 2013). She edits the webzine Ink Sweat and Tears. She has over 15 years teaching experience at all levels and as well as teaching for UEA/WCN also teaches for The Poetry School, The Arvon Foundation and The Poetry Society. Fool’s World, a collaborative Tarot with artist Tom de Freston (Gatehouse Press) won the 2016 Saboteur Best Collaborative Work award.
